Thanksgiving Dinner

I made Thanksgiving dinner this year, I had never made thanksgiving dinner before so I had no idea what to do. My approach was keep it simple, because I had no idea what to do. So, I had the fantastic Florence Meat Market prepare the turkey before I cooked it, they added herbs, stuffed it with lemons and rapped it in bacon. For the stuffing I did something guilty, I bought a mushroom and chesnut pre-made stuffing from a specialty food store, then cut nice sourdough pieces put those all over the top of stuffing, along with rosemarry sprigs olive oil and a little truffle oil. I then cooked it in a hot oven for a nice amount of time till the stuffing was warm and soft and the bread was crunchy on top. For sides, I made sweet potatoes roasted with orange zest and olive oil then made roasted parsnips with onions and rosemarry with olive oil and some butternut squash puree. One of the few good things my mom makes is suprisingly enough cranberry sauce, she makes two kinds but I only have a picture of one, and that one is simply stewed cranberries with cinnamon and brown sugar, really really delicious! I only have pictures of the food before it was cooked because once it was it went straight to the table!! Christmas dinner post will come shortly after the holiday, and don't worry that holiday I will not take shortcuts!
